The Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention (DAJD) plays a critical role in maintaining public safety and promoting rehabilitation in the community. The Community Corrections Division (CCD) is at the forefront of this effort, providing court-ordered alternatives to secure detention for approximately 6,000 individuals annually. Through a variety of innovative programs, the CCD focuses on reducing recidivism, supporting reentry, and enhancing community safety.
King County’s DAJD is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Community Corrections Division. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of progressive experience in community corrections or a related field, with a deep commitment to equity and social justice. The Director will lead efforts to expand and enhance programming, working closely with the judiciary, law enforcement, and community partners to implement evidence-based practices that positively impact the lives of participants and the broader community.
The successful candidate will have proven executive-level experience, demonstrating leadership and collaboration skills necessary to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the judiciary, law enforcement, and community partners. A recognized programmatic and administrative leader who is immersed in best practices and centered on effective implementation science, identifying, inspiring, and measuring outcomes and continuous improvement is crucial for success. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in public service is essential for this role.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $161,614.75 to $204,856.08 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package. King County is dedicated to supporting its employees with generous benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
