Hazardous Waste Technician – Chelan County Public Works

Job Description

The Chelan County Public Works Office is seeking applications for a full time Hazardous Waste Technician position. The employee in this position will work as a technician at the Chelan County Moderate Risk Waste Facility along with other Chelan County Solid Waste facilities.

The salary range is Step 2 at $4,189.86 per month to step 8 at $5,539.99 per month. Starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Employees receive a progression of steps until reaching Step 8. The position includes a state retirement system, with a deferred comp program available. Health insurance package includes Medical, Dental, Vision and county contributions to a personal health savings account. This position will work Tuesday through Saturday on the first week of each month and Monday through Friday the remainder of the weeks. Includes 11 paid holidays and 2 floating personal holidays along with monthly accrued vacation and sick leave.

This position requires a Washington State Driver’s License and Hazardous Waste Operator training and certification within the first 3 months of employment. We prefer candidates have current First Aid/CPR and flagging cards, but we will work with you to obtain within 4 months of employment.
