Position Overview
Manages and performs a variety of advanced professional engineering assignments in the design and development of County infrastructure improvements, requiring advanced expertise in a specialized area of engineering or in multiple engineering-related functions.  The incumbent acts as a resource to engineers and technicians on complex projects and manages or oversees projects, project components, and professional contracts.  Work assignments are received with little technical instruction and require the selection of course of action and resolution of complex or unique problems with considerable latitude for independent judgment to develop procedures, systems and establish priorities working within the frameworks of established administrative guidelines.

Required Education and Experience

Licensed as a WA State Professional Engineer (PE), or in process of securing WA State comity; and
Six years relevant engineering experience, to include two years of supervisory or lead experience.
*Engineering means the “practice of engineering” as defined in RCW 18.43.020.
Preferred Education, Experience or Other Qualifications

Six years of contract administration and project management experience.
Certified as a Project Management Professional.
Certified as a Construction Manager from Construction Management Association of America.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $86,197.29 – $121,794.55. This position offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a pension retirement, and other voluntary benefits.
