JOB LOCATION: Ione, WA (2 days) and Cusick, WA (2 Days)
Full Salary Range (per hour):
Step 1 $19.66 Step 2 $20.84 Step 3 $22.09 Step 4 $23.42 Step 5 $24.82
Hiring Salary Range: Step 1 $19.66/hr. – Step 3 $22.09/hr. DOE

Job Summary:
This non-exempt, union position involves basic bookkeeping, mathematics, office practices, and customer service skills, including proper phone etiquette. Requires knowledge of safety guidelines and weights/measures (tons, cubic yards, etc.) and the ability to work cooperatively with the public and County employees.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid certified
- Experienced in cash handling, daily balancing, and recordkeeping
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Organized, flexible, and able to work independently while maintaining safety standards
- Proficient with basic computer applications; able to cover flexible schedules
Essential Job Functions:
- Operated scales, recorded weights/volumes, calculated fees, and issued receipts
- Managed cash handling, accounts receivable, daily balancing, and reporting
- Maintained scale house and surrounding area, ensuring safety and cleanliness
- Supported management with additional tasks as needed
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily indoors with periods of standing, sitting, and kneeling, often performed independently with minimal supervision. Requires hand-eye coordination for operating computers and office equipment, along with strong listening and communication skills. Regular, punctual attendance and self-motivation are essential. Duties must be performed on-site at County facilities; remote work is not permitted.
